Authorities have identified Kaden Ausbrooks as the suspect arrested in connection with a shooting inside a Kroger grocery store in Harris County, Texas, on Wednesday, July 15, 2026. The incident left one person critically injured and prompted a rapid response from law enforcement and emergency personnel. According to the Harris County Constable Precinct 4 Office, deputies were dispatched at approximately 2:50 p.m. to the Kroger located at 20355 Cypresswood Drive after receiving reports of an active shooter. Officers arrived within minutes and encountered the suspect as he exited the store.
Authorities said Ausbrooks was taken into custody without further incident, allowing officers to quickly secure the scene and prevent additional injuries.
